Individual therapy

You may come to therapy because something in your life feels stuck, painful or difficult to understand. Perhaps this shows up in your relationships, your body. your sexuality, your confidence, your sense of direction, or in the way you speak to yourself. You may feel anxious, ashamed, disconnected, reactive, numb, or caught in patterns that you can recognise but not yet change.

Individual therapy offers a space to slow down and meet these experiences more deeply. We begin with what is happening now, but we do not treat your difficulty as an isolated symptom to be quickly removed. Together, we explore what may sit underneath old wounds, protective patterns, fear, shame, unmet needs, or parts of yourself that have not felt safe to come into the open.

My way of working is relational, embodied and active. Alongside conversation, we pay attention to what happens inside you as you speak: emotions, bodily sensations, impulses, thoughts, images, silences and places of uncertainty. This helps you begin to notice your inner world rather than be ruled by it.

You do not need to arrive with everything clear or know exactly what needs to change. The work is to develop a more honest and accepting relationship with yourself, so that self-understanding can grow into self-trust, and self-trust can begin to open new possibilities in how you live, choose, desire and relate.

Over time, therapy can help you feel less driven by old patterns and more able to meet yourself and others with lightness, care and freedom.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can become places where old patterns repeat, communication breaks down, and distance, tension or resentment begins to grow. You may find yourselves having the same arguments. avoiding difficult conversations, losing sexual or emotional connection, or feeling unsure how to reach one another.

Couples therapy offers a space where both of you can be heard, but also where the pattern between you can be understood. The focus is not on deciding who is right or wrong, or forcing the relationship into a particular shape. Together, we explore what happens between you, and what happens inside each of you, when conflict, intimacy, desire or disconnection appear.

This may include looking at communication, trust, emotional safety, sexual connection, unmet needs, expectations, rupture and repair. It may also involve understanding how past experiences, shame. protection or fear shape the way each of you reaches for closeness, defends against hurt, or withdraws from contact.

My role is to help you slow the process down and create enough safety, structure and honesty for you to recognise the patter you are caught in, and begin to understand what each of you is protecting, longing for, or finding difficult to say. I work actively and relationally, offering care and thoughtful challenge so that both of you can begin to relate with more honesty, responsibility and choice.

Couples therapy may support you to reconnect, repair and deepen the relationship. It may also help you decide whether and how the relationship can continue. The aim is to help you relate with greater clarity, respect, care and truth, whatever direction the relationship takes.
